2 Nice Fish…

The second event of the Jacksonville 1 Man Redfish Series was held on Saturday February 23 – this catch and release format challenged anglers to catch a limit of 2 legal redfish using artificial lures only.

Jacksonville’s Tom Riley took the win in tough conditions with a limit weighing 12.08 lbs. Anglers faced winds gusting to 25 mph but that played a key in Riley’s win. “Around 2:00 when the tide had fallen out I targeted some fish on a shoreline I could get out of the wind on. I knew these fish liked to stay in a couple of bays off of a main creek channel so I put down my Power Pole and make long downwind casts so they didn’t get spooky.” Throwing jig heads tipped with Zoom flukes proved the winning combination for Riley who moved into 2nd place in the Angler of the Year standings.

John Henninger, winner on multiple pro-tours, took 2nd with 11.64 lbs and Capt. Terry Sturgeon rounded out the “top 3” with 11.47 lbs.
