Crandon and Richardson Pierce Bay Area Competitors

Bay Area Bassmasters is “the world’s largest B.A.S.S. Nation ‘buddy’ team tournament trail.” Based out of Tampa, FL this “bass fishing club is designed to provide a little something for anglers of all ages, with or without experience,’ and holds events on bodies of water across the state. The club held their 7th event of the season on July 12th out of Jennings Fish Camp on Lake Pierce.

Usually, anglers competing in an upcoming tournament will practice the lake prior to the event. In this case, competing anglers had no idea what body of water they would be fishing until the meeting held the Tuesday prior to the tournament. Anglers were not allowed to practice tournament waters once the mystery lake was unveiled, so between the 33 competing teams, it was anybody’s tournament to win.

Jeff Crandon and Dan Richardson bested the summer weather 33-boat field, bringing a 26.40-pound, 5 bass limit to the scales. Their bag was anchored by a 7.33-pound lunker that won the event’s Big Bass award.
