Gilileo wins by large margin of victory

The Winter Haven Lunker Lovers began their 2016 season on their namesake body of water, the Winter Haven Chain of Lakes. 34 anglers arrived at Lake Shipp Park on January 10th, under post front conditions, to kick off the club’s 46th season.

Trenton Gilileo competed in his first tournament with the club, and crushed the field with an almost seven pound margin of victory. Gilileo’s five-bass limit weighed a total of 21.95 pounds, and was anchored by the event’s Big Bass, an 8.94-pound TrophyCatch.

Scott Daley caught a solid five-bass limit that totaled an even 15.00 pounds to finish in second place. Darrell Cranor finished in third place with 14.48 pounds, followed by Jay Morgan with 12.66 pound in fourth place.

Founded in 1970, the Winter Haven Lunker Lovers Bass Club is a draw club, fishing the Kissimmee Chain, Lake Okeechobee, Lake Istokpoga, and other waters in central Florida. The club’s next event is scheduled for Lake Toho on February 7th. Anglers will not be allowed to lock through to any other lakes. More information can be found at www.lunkerlovers.com.
