Jones, Carter Win Despite Boat Issues

A blown motor couldn’t stop Bryan Jones and Richard Carter from winning the Tri-County Bassmasters event at Lake Kissimmee on April 18th. Jones, who won his third consecutive tournament, partnered with Carter to boat a 20.08-pound limit-more than enough to top the 13 boat field.

“Even though we were limited to only the trolling motor, we stuck it out and fished hard all day,” exclaimed Jones. “What started out as a bad day turned into an awesome day on the water.”

The second place team of Bryan Mason and Colby Pitts weighed a solid 5-bass limit. Their bag pushed the scales to 18.18 pounds. David and Michael Simonds finished the day in third place. The duo weighed a 15.92-pound bag, anchored by the day’s Big Bass. Their lunker weighed in at an impressive 9.59 pounds.

The Tri-County Bassmasters is set to compete on Lake Arbuckle on May 16th.
