Knepper and Keith Win The Harris Chain Challenge

We had 16 teams register for The Harris Chain Challenge October 6 out of Tavares Florida. They represented 11 different High Schools and it is great start to the new year. Boone High School in Orlando brought 2 teams and dominated the competition. Defending HS State Champions, Jeremy Knepper and Ryan Keith, did it again with 12.77lbs to claim the title and Jeremy also had big bass. Bobby Bakewell and Parker Turner, both freshman, showed that they can compete and brought 12.31 to the scales to claim 2nd place. Lake Gibson High School’s Brett Steven and Cheyenne Phillips(the only girl) took home third place, proving that anyone can fish. The team of Grady Maynard and Michael Crowe(local favorite) made a long run and had high hopes, but just never got the right bites. The top 3 teams not only took home trophies but gift cards from Bass Pro Shops too! Id like to congratulate all our anglers for participating and thank them for their hard work in getting this program off the ground. Id also like to thank all of our sponsors which make it possible, Lauren Farrell and the city of Tavares, JAW Productions, Bass Pro Shops, Costa Del Mar, DOA Lures, Culprit, Tokar, Toho Marine, Legend Boats, Strike Kings Lures, Porkies BBQ, Mercury Marine, Navionics, and Shimano.
