Konopka, Hebb move up in Anglers Team Trail standings with win

The Anglers Team Trail continued rolling right into the new year with their 2015/2016 season. The fifth stop for the Anglers Team Trail was the Butler Chain of Lakes, located just outside of Orlando. 33 teams arrived for their first tournament of 2016, only to meet frontal conditions.

The change in weather didn’t keep Richard Konopka and Kim Hebb from a tournament winning 20.41-pound, five-bass limit. The team who moved into second place in the Team of the Year points race with their victory on Saturday also took the Big Bass honor with a 7.26-pound kicker, earning a total of $936.00.

Team MHX Rods’ Hunter McKamey and Chris Adams finessed their way to a second place finish. Their 14.87-pound, five-bass limit earned the team $576.00. The 2014/2015 Team of the Year winners Ken Lucas and Danny Lanier ended the day with a third place finish. Their flipping and swimbait one-two punch helped the MHX Rods pro staffers put a 13.50-pound, five-bass limit on the scales worth $360.00. Bill Trevino and Don Biddle retained their Team of the Year points lead by putting a 13.20-pound, five-bass limit in the boat to finish in fourth place, and earn $216.00.

The Anglers Team Trail travels to the Kissimmee Chain on February 2nd for the 6th event of the season, launching from Overstreet Landing.
