McKenzie, Whitaker take win in TPB event at Kissimmee

While many trails were winding down their seasons, the anglers of Tampa Pro Bass were just getting started. Earlier this month, 40 teams competed in the club’s second event of the 2015/2016 season at Lake Kissimmee.

Chuck McKenzie and Jason Whitaker only brought four fish to the scales, one shy of a tournament limit. That wouldn’t hinder their efforts in the search for a victory. Their four-bass bag weighed in at an even 25.00 pounds, after a dead fish penalty, and was more than enough to secure the win.

Jerry Kennedy and Lenny Crispino finished the day in second place with a 24.20-pound, five-bass limit. James Pearson and Jeff Crandon grabbed a third place finish with a 23.84-pound, five-bass limit. Luke Ferguson and Matt Bedenbaugh’s 23.16-pound bag landed them in fourth place for the day, thanks to an 8.28-pound TrophyCatch that anchored their bag. Bobby Wooten and Chad Stewart anchored the Top 5 with a 21.61-pound, five-bass limit.

Josh Hall’s 9.05-pound TrophyCatch netted him the Big Bass award for the tournament.

The next event scheduled for Tampa Pro Bass is set for December 6th at Lake Istokpoga. Visit www.tamparobass.com for more details.
