O’Byrne Rocks Out at Johns Lake Jam

The Johns Lake Jam had anglers of the Florida Trails Bassmasters rocking out on the 2,400-acre body of water, located just east of the town of Clermont, for the 5th stop of the 2014/2015 season.

Dennis O’Byrne beat out the 18 angler field as he weighed a 14.34-pound, five bass limit of Johns Lake largemouth. O’Byrne anchored his catch with a 5.01-pound kicker.

Johns Lake has been known to produce trophy quality bass over the years, including 26 TrophyCatch quality fish since February 2013.

Sam Sanders found one of those TrophyCatch quality largemouth in the 8.99-pound lunker he boated. It was his only fish of the day, but weighed enough to earn a second place finish, as well as the Big Bass award.

Jim Topmiller’s four bass weighed 7.33 pounds, earning him a third place finish.

The Florida Trails Bassmasters will need to have their trigger fingers ready and guns loaded as they venture to East Lake Toho on April 11th for the East Lake Showdown. More information on their next tournament can be found on the Event Calendar.
