Wagner worms his way to victory

The Lakeland Bassmasters first event at Camp Mack in January was cancelled, making the February 21st event at the Winter Haven Chain of Lakes the kick off event for the club in 2016. The Winter Haven Chain is made up of multiple lakes, each with their own character. With 67 anglers competing, everyone would be able to fish their strengths.

Chad Wagner found his in the way of slowly working a worm back to the boat. Wagner topped the 34 boat field utilizing the technique, weighing a 20.50 pound, five-bass limit.

Jerry Martin weighed a 19.87-pound, five-bass limit to finish in second place.

The tournament’s 8.71-pound Big Bass anchored the bag of Dee Adams. His 17.28-pound, five-bass limit earned Adams a third place finish.

Gary Hawkins finished the day in fourth place with 16.28 pounds, followed by Tommy Robinson in fifth place with 15.08 pounds.
