Watkins tops Elite One Man Classic

The Toho Marine and Outdoors Elite One Man Tour’s 2015 season came full circle with their two-day championship at Lake Toho. The eight-event tour that features a one angler format, capped off their season at the club’s namesake lake.

Jerry Hammett led the 26 boat field on day one of competition with a 21.12 pound, five-bass limit. Wayne Yohn weighed a 19.24-pound limit to finish the day in second place. James Watkins’ 18.26-pound bag landed him in third place. Angler of the Year Chad Foster weighed 17.82 pounds to finish in fourth, followed by Tim Burton in fifth place with 17.10 pounds.

Foster weighed the largest bass on day 1, an 8.86-pound TrophyCatch.

In multi-day tournaments, consistency is key, and consistency is exactly what James Watkins was able to maintain. He weighed an 18.88-pound, five-bass limit to finish the weekend on top with 37.14 pounds.

Hammett, who led the tournament heading into day two, weighed a 13.70-pound bag, finishing in second place with 34.82 pounds.

Dean Harcourt flew up the leaderboard on day two with a 21.56-pound bag. Helping his effort was a 10.16-pound lunker, which earned Harcourt the overall Big Bass award. Harcourt finished in third place with 32.88 pounds.

Wayne Yohn weighed a 12.60-pound bag on the final day of competition to finish in fourth place with 31.84 pounds, followed by Tim Burton in fifth with 30.26 pounds.
