Youth Anglers to Compete for State Championship

Young anglers from across the state will be competing Saturday and Sunday, for the B.A.S.S. Nation Florida High School Series State Championship on the waters of the Kissimmee Chain. The event, hosted by Camp Mack in Polk County, will feature two age groups-anglers in high school, and younger anglers not in high school. Don’t be surprised if some big fish are caught by the young anglers. Matt Hinman and Andrew Lee hit the 40 pound mark 2 weeks ago in the Xtreme Bass Series event out of Lake Kissimmee.

The top 2 high school teams will advance to the B.A.S.S. Nation High School National Championship on Kentucky Lake July 16-19. Winners in the junior division will win a guided fishing trip of their choice, plus participants will be competing for gift cards, and the coveted championship trophy.

The B.A.S.S. Nation High School National Championship will feature 96 teams. Those high school teams will be competing for scholarship money and merchandise. The National Championship will be televised on ESPNU.
