Fifer overcomes tough conditions to top Bay County field

The Bay County Bass Club took to Compass Lake on November 14th form North Boat Landing. Mother Nature was unkind to the anglers, hitting them with a drop in temperatures and 17-20 M.P.H. winds. The conditions made for a tough bite on the 12-man field.

Sam Fifer was able to muster up a five-bass limit, and overcome the tough conditions. Fifer brought a five-bass limit to the scales that weighed an even 9.00 pounds. A 5.50-pound kicker anchored his bag, and earned Fifer the Big Bass award.

Al Ramsey was the only other angler to boat a five-bass limit en route to a second place finish. Ramsey’s bag weighed 5.75 pounds. Tom Martin finished in third place with 3.76 pounds.

The Bay County Bass Club will compete next at Deer Point Lake on  December 12th, launching form High Point Boat Landing.
