Lucas, Lanier catch 10-pounder in Xtreme Bass opener

The Xtreme Bass Series started it’s 2016 season with the Toho division leading the way. 19 teams launched from Red’s Fish Camp as they were met with cold front conditions to start the new year.

Ken Lucas and Danny Lanier topped the field with a 23.97-pound, five-bass limit. The MHX Rods team secured their victory with a monster 10.30-pound lunker that won the Big Bass prize.

Joe Clements and Jimmy Murphy’s 21.09-pound, five-bass limit earned the team a second place finish. Their bag was anchored by an 8.84-pound TrophyCatch.

Yogi Norris teamed up with Matt Hitman for a third place finish, as they weighed a solid 20.15-pound bag.

Don Eady and Kenny Bivens finished in fourth place with 16.05 pounds, followed by Bob McDaniel and Rick Browning in fifth place with 14.19 pounds.

The next event scheduled for the Xtreme Bass Series: Toho division is set for February 21st. More information can be found at www.xbseries.com.
