Smith, Folks win XBS event by narrow margin

Jeremy Smith and Jim Folks have a nack for winning. They’re the 2015 Xtreme Bass Series Team Champions and 2015 Classic Champions for that very reason, and they earned their first victory of the 2016 season at the second event for the Xtreme Bass Series Toho Division by mere ounces.

With a narrow margin of victory amongst the top three teams, Smith and Folks edged their way to the top with a 23.48-pound, five-bass limit. Don Eady and Kenny Bivens finished in the runner-up spot with 23.28 pounds. Terry Friend and Collin Munns weighed a 23.13-pound bag to finish in third place. Their five-bass limit was anchored by the day’s Big Bass, a 7.44-pound kicker.

Charlie Harrelson and Logan Murphy finished the day in fourth place with 16.93 pounds, followed by Russ Osbourne and Micah Silverman in fifth place with 16.49 pounds.

The next event for the Xtreme Bass Series Toho Division is scheduled for March 6th from Red’s Fish camp. For more information, visit www.xbseries.com.
