Team FlatWater Wins Tampa Bay Redfish Tour Event

The Tampa Bay Redfish Tour Winter Series held their 2nd event of the series on December 14th out of the Gandy boat ramp. 25 competing teams took off towards the peak of high tide to search for slob reds.

Team FlatWater, formed by Rusty Jewett and Tim Jacobson, stalked their way to a win by catching redfish weighing 5.87 lbs. and 8.03 lbs., respectively. Their 13.90-lb. total was just enough to secure the victory.

Team AFA Marine finished just behind Team FlatWater. Their 13.15-lb. total landed them a 2nd place finish. Albert Ariotti and Vic Morelli caught fish weighing 6.02 lbs. and 7.13 lbs. to make up their total.

Team Reel Deal Outdoors finished in 3rd place with a 12.97-lb. total. Chris Morelli captained Nic and Chris Morelli to fish weighing 5.76 lbs. and 7.21 lbs., respectively.

Team Mullet finished in 4th place. Randle Mullett led Willis and Jeff Mullett to a 12.96-lb. total by catching an 8.03-lb., and a 4.93-lb. redfish.

Frank Leto captained the rest of Team Young Boats, Frank Leto Sr. and Josh Bibler, to 5th place finish. They weighed in a 5.64-lb. and a 6.89-lb. redfish for a total of 12.53 lbs.

Team FlatWater and Team Mullett both weighed in the largest fish for the event with their 8.03-lb. slobs.

The Tampa Bay Redfish Tour is an artificial lures only trail. Teams may consist of 2 or 3 anglers, and all fish must measure within the 18 to 27 inch slot.
