Thompson’s win by large margin of victory

The Outcasts Bass Club capped off their 30th season with a two-day championship at Lake Okeechobee on November 14th and 15th, for qualified teams. Twelve of those teams made the trip to the Big O to search for TrophyCatch quality bass, and a club classic victory.

Though no TrophyCatches were weighed, the father/son team of Curtis and Don Thompson were able to crush the field with bags of quality fish. Their two-day total of 40.31 pounds was more than enough to secure the victory. The Thompson’s won the event with more than a 10-pound margin of victory, thanks to their Big Bass of the tournament, a 7.82-pound lunker that was caught on day one. They also weighed a 7.48 pounder on day two.

Jim Prokosch and Willie Miranda finished the tournament with 30.03 pounds, earning them a second place finish.

Team of the Year winners John Catlin and Rick Bateman finished off their season with a third place finish, by catching 28.78 pounds over two days of competition.

Matt Faneuf and James Melvin finished in fourth place with 28.64 pounds, followed by George Thomasson and Charlie Hill in fifth place with 27.95 pounds.

The Outcasts Bass Club will kick off their 2016 season on January 23rd at Lake Kissimmee.
