Watkins earns first victory of 2016

The Kissimmee Bass Series kicked off the 2016 season with the KBS One Man Trail on Saturday, January 2nd from Camp Mack. 38 anglers arrived to get their 2016 season under way, battling windy, rainy conditions throughout the day.

James ‘JW’ Watkins got off to a slow start, catching just a few small keepers. Being a seasoned angler on the Kissimmee Chain, Watkins “kept at it,” and was able to set a 25.35-pound, five-bass limit on the scales for the victory. He also earned the day’s Big Bass award with an 8.40-pound TrophyCatch.

Eric Conant finished the day in second place, weighing a solid 19.95-pound, five-bass limit. Mark Krutzky finished in third place with a 19.40-pound limit. Krutzky anchored his bag with an 8.20-pound TrophyCatch. Ricky Helms finished the day in fourth place with 17.25 pounds, followed by Richie Upchurch in fifth place with 16.25 pounds.

The next Kissimmee Bass Series One Man is scheduled for February 6th at Camp Mack. More information can be found on their Facebook page.
