Jones & Bollman Win by Large Margin

The Thonotosassa Toad Snatchers hosted their 6th event of the season on the waters of the historic Hillsborough River, on Saturday June 7th. The Hillsborough River flows 59 miles through Pasco and Hillsborough counties. With its headwaters beginning in the Green Swamp, and eventually spilling into Tampa Bay. The Hillsborough River Dam separates the upper and middle sections from the lower section of the river. This allows for a fertile, exclusively freshwater environment which has all the ingredients to grow big bass.

Launching from Rotary Riverfront Park in Temple Terrace, 7 teams set out to find bass in their summertime haunts. The team of James Jones and Michael Bollman sacked a 23.47-pound, 5 bass limit to win the event, giving them an almost 10-pound margin of victory over 2nd place finishers Jeff Herndon and Dalton Brinson. Herndon and Brinson’s stringer of bass weighed 14.12-pounds. Jake Smith and Spencer Williams rounded out the top 3 weighing 13.40-pounds of river bass. Jones and Bollman also weighed in a 7.06-pound toad to win Big Bass honors for the event.

The Thonotosassa Toad Snatchers next event is scheduled for July 5th on Lake Gibson in Lakeland. For more information on the event, click here.
