King, Wylie Crush FBN Winter Open Bass Tournament

The Florida Bass Nation has been preparing for the 2015 season. To kick off the new year, the FBN held the Winter Open Bass Tournament on the St. Johns River, site of the 2014 FBN State Championship. 15 teams launched from Crystal Cove Resort on January 24th in search of a few of the lunkers the river system is known to produce.

Scott King and Christian Wylie found some of those river monsters, crushing the field of anglers with an even 26.00-pound, 5 bass limit. King and Wylie anchored their giant bag with a 7.44-pounder that won Big Bass honors.

The rest of the field struggled in comparison. Jerry and Jason Gutierrez were the next closest competitors, as they weighed an 11.35-pound limit for a second place finish. John King and Artis Allen finished in third place, weighing a 7.74-pound limit.

The Florida Bass Nation’s first Pro/Am Qualifier will take place tomorrow on the St. Johns River, again launching from Crystal Cove Resort.
