Mann, Craighead Catch Lunker to Secure Win

Bay Area Bassmasters, “the world’s largest B.A.S.S. Nation ‘buddy’ team tournament trail,”continued their 2015 season on February 14th, on the Kissimmee Chain of Lakes at Lake Toho. 29 teams made their way to the boat ramp at Southport Park for the second event of the season. With the exception of hard cold fronts, the Kissimmee Chain is always suspect to producing large stringers and big fish.

The Kissimmee Chain showed a little Valentines Day love to Greg Mann and Joe Craighead, as they set a 20.10-pound, 5 bass limit on the scales to win the derby. Anchoring their winning bag was a 9.18-pound lunker, which also earned the team the Big Bass award. Craighead also took over the Lunker of the Year with his Trophy Catch. The duo also took over the points lead in the Team of the Year race.

2014 Team of the Year anglers Jeff Crandon and Dan Richardson finished in second place, weighing a 16.35-pound limit. Their bag was anchored by a 7.84-pounder.

Casey Gonzalez and Eugene Terkoski earned a third place finish, weighing a solid 16.01-pound bag. Their largest bass weighed 4.76 pounds.

Rounding out the Top 5 were the teams of Jeff and Jason Baker (15.45), and Tom Craighead & Tim Hibbs (13.08).

The Bay Area Bassmasters will travel north of Crystal River to Lake Rousseau on March 14th, launching from the Inglis Dam Boat Ramp. More information on this event can be found on the Event Calendar.
