Team Chance Wins by Big Margin

As many trails begin to start their seasons, the West Volusia Bass Anglers are starting to prepare for their end of season classic. Their 10th qualifying event of the season was held on January 17th at Crows Bluff on the St. Johns River.

The team of Doug and Tyler Chance blew the 18 boat field away, as they brought a 21.16-pound, 5 bass limit to the scales, giving the team an almost 10-pound margin of victory. The duo also won the Big Bass award with a 7.92-pounder. The Chance’s won $414.00 for the day.

Brian and Larry Heaberlin ties with Mark Sills and Rob Williams, as they both weighed an 11.48-pound limit. The Heaberlins won the tiebreaker, giving them a 2nd place finish and $234.00. Sills and Williams took 3rd place, and $144.00. Butch McKee and Glenn Rogers rounded out the Top 4 on the day with an 11.38-pound limit worth $108.00.

The final qualifying event is scheduled for February 14th at Mullett Lake Park on the St. Johns River. More information can be found on the Event Calendar.
