West, Petty dominate Crackerboys field at Harris

The Harris Chain of Lakes is one of the most unique fisheries in the state. On April 25th, the Crackerboys Bass Clubs set out to compete on the chain that is comprised on nine individual lakes, including Lake Apopa, for the fourth event of their season.

Rick West and Larry Petty ran away with the win, as they brought a 23.53-pound, five-bass limit to the scales. West and Petty also earned the award for second Big Bass overall, thanks to the 7.21-pounder that anchored their limit.

Jesse Windsor and Donald Hare finished in a distant second place, weighing a respectable 16.81-pound, five-bass limit.

Jody Marriott and Mark Ruble weighed a 15.03-pound, five-bass limit to finish in third place for the day.

The team of Donnie Crouse and partner (first name not available) Gee landed in the fourth place position in the day’s standings, weighing a 14.03-pound bag.

Gary Bradford and Stephen Williams rounded out the Top 5 with a 12.31-pound, five-bass limit.

Glen Evans and Tracy Roberts weighed an 8.66-pound Trophy Catch and won the overall Big Bass award.

The Crackerboys Bass Club is a Florida State Team Championship registered organization. The Top 4 finishing teams in the Team of the Year race will be invited to the 2016 Florida State Team Championship, where teams of anglers from various organizations across the state, will have the opportunity to compete for a Blazer 595 Pro Elite powered by a 200 HP outboard. To compete in this club, you must have fished one of the first two events of the season.

The Crackerboys Bass Club will travel south to Lake Istokpoga on May 23rd for their next event of the season, before they head back to the Harris Chain on June 27th.
