Whitman tops LWBB field, Wood wins amongst co-anglers

The Lake Worth Boynton Beach Bassmasters are now on the second half of their season. Their seventh event took place on April 19th at Lake Okeechobee, in Clewiston, Fla., where 22 anglers took another step closer towards the 2016 Florida State Team Championship.

Jake Whitman led the charge amongst the boater division. He weighed a 17.49-pound, 5 bass limit to earn the win. Whitman anchored his bag with a 6.54-pound kicker. Scott Osinga caught a solid 15.80-pound bag to finish in second place. Oozing anchored his limit with the tournament’s Big Bass, a 6.74-pounder. Bob Wood secured a spot within the Top 3 as he weighed a 14.93-pound limit. 

Bill Wood bagged a 13.96-pound, 5 bass limit to earn a victory over the co-angler division. Wood’s tournament winning bag was anchored by a 5.54-pound kicker. Adam Trieschmann’s 5.79-poud kicker was the heaviest amongst the co-anglers, and anchored his 13.43 pound, second place limit. Wayne Lloyd weighed an 11.91-pound limit to finish in third place.

The Lake Worth-Boynton Beach Bassmasters is a FLW Federated Pro/Am draw club. They belong to the Bass Federation and the Florida Bass Federation. They have also registered for the 2016 Florida State Team Championship. The Top 4 boaters and the Top 4 co-anglers at the end of the season, based on angler of the year standings, will be invited to team up and compete for a Blazer 595 Pro Elite powered by a 200 HP outboard.

Located in Palm Beach County, the Lake Worth-Boynton Beach Bassmasters meets the 3rd Wednesday of each month at Hurricane Grill and Wings in Wellington, FL. Their next event is scheduled for May 23rd and 24th at Lake Istokpoga. For more information, contact Scott Osinga.
