The Xtreme Bass 4-Man Team Open took place on December 21st, the Sunday prior to Christmas, on the Kissimmee Chain of Lakes. 60 anglers ventured to Camp Mack for the Last Cast for Christmas Cash.
The 4-Man team format is unique to the typical team tournament. Teams compete with 2 anglers per boat, and each is allowed to keep up to 10 fish per boat in the livewell at any one time. Unlike other events, teams can contact one another throughout the day to gain insight on how the other’s day on the water is going. Prior to weigh-in, teams meet up to cull down to their best 5 fish per boat. This makes for an exciting day on the water for the anglers, and can make for an interesting weigh-in.

Billy and Mike Bechard weighed in a 20.30-lb., 5 bass limit. Teammates Corey Ash and Richard Finley added to that, weighing a 16.45-lb. bag, to win the $1250.00 1st place prize with a 36.75-lb. total.
Wesley Wise and Derek Moore weighed in the largest 5 bass bag of the event with their 23.80-lb. limit. They also caught the event’s Big Bass, weighing in at 8.60 pounds. Their teammates Joey Bruce and Garrett Rocamora weighed a 12.15-lb. bag, giving the team a 35.95-lb. total for 2nd place. They were awarded $800.00 for 2nd place, and $300.00 for Big Bass.
Robbie Crosnoe and Ricky Grant caught a 19.75-lb., 5 bass limit to go along with Jeremy Smith and Jim Folks’ 16.10-lb. bag. They won $500.00 for 3rd place with a 35.85-lb. total.
John Stahl and Bryan Jones brought a 20.00-lb., 5 bass limit to the scales. Teammates Casey Gonzalez and Bobby Squires paired that with a 14.45-lb. bag to give the team a 34.45-lb. overall total, and a 4th place finish. They were awarded $385.00 for their efforts.
“We plan on this being a yearly event,” said Xtreme Fishing Series President Mike Blocher. “Anglers seem to always enjoy an event like this, and we hope to make this an event they can look forward to.”
