Cameron, Smith Trump KOTG Field on Okeechobee

The King of the Glades Open Team Series kicked off their 9th season on January 4th at Lake Okeechobee in Clewiston, Fla. 70 teams set out on the Big O in hopes of taking an early lead towards becoming the 9th King of the Glades Champions.

Dennis Cameron and Jacob Smith trumped the 136 angler field as they brought a 28.43 pound limit to the scales. Mike Powell and Roy Stephen finished in a distant second place, weighing a 21.48 pound bag. Doug Harris and Carl Bousquet took a third place finish, weighing 20.10 pounds of Okeechobee bass. Scott Bumgarner and Bryan Carter finished in 4th (19.90), while Leo Devega and Mike Slipy finished in 5th (19.27).

The Top 3 teams in the qualifying rounds earn an automatic birth into the KOTG 9 Classic. The next qualifying round is scheduled to be held on February 1st at Holiday Park. More information on Round 2 can be found on the Event Calendar.
