Catlin & Bateman Grind Out Win on Reedy

The summertime heat continued to beat down on anglers fishing the Outcast Bass Club team event on Saturday, July 26th. 17 teams arrived at Lake Reedy the morning of the event, ready to draw bass from their summertime lairs.

With water temps in the 90’s, and hardly any breeze throughout the day, the team of John Catlin and Rick Bateman were able to grind out the win. Despite the tough conditions, the duo weighed in a 13.57-pound, 5 bass limit, by throwing a Strike King 6XD in water depths of 13 feet. Catlin stated they “Caught every fish in a 1 hour period, from about 9:45 to 10:45. Fishing is crazy like that sometimes.”

Jim Prokosch and Willie Miranda finished in 2nd place. Their 5 bass limit weighed 11.43 pounds.

Reggie Bush and John Myers II rounded out the top 3. Their 5 bass limit weighed 10.01 pounds.

Doug Wilkerson and Greg Remor weighed in a 4.16-pound bass to win the event’s Big Bass award.

The club will not hold an event during the month of August. The next event will be held September 27th on Lake Istokpoga, launching from Windy Point Park. For more information on this event, click here https://floridatournamentreport.com/event/outcast-bass-club-lake-istokpoga/.
