Fox Wins Central Region Qualifier

On Saturday August 23rd, 25 Boaters and 15 Co-anglers launched from Lakefront Park on Lake Toho for the Florida B.A.S.S. Nation Central Region Qualifier.

Kyle Fox of the Lakeland Bassmasters grabbed the top spot in the Boater standings. Using Culprit’s new Incredi-Slim and Incredi-Punch craws, Fox flipped his way to a 20.27-lb., 5 bass limit. Anchoring his limit was a 6.61-lb. kicker. According to his Facebook fan page, Fox paired his craws with ¾ and 1 oz. weights.

Club Florida’s Michael Grovesteen finished in 2nd place. He weighed an 18.45-lb., 5 bass limit.

Fred Chivington from the Bassmasters of Gator Country only caught 3 bass, but they weighed 13.27 lbs., giving him enough to round out the Top 3. Chivington’s bag was anchored by a 7.49-lb. lunker, which won the event’s Big Bass award.

James Topmiller of the Florida Trails Bassmasters only needed 2 fish to win the Co-angler division of the Florida B.A.S.S. Nation Central Region Qualifier. His 2 fish weighed 7.25 lbs., and was anchored by a 5.75-lb. kicker. That fish won Topmiller the Big Bass award for the Co-angler division.
