Land O’ Lakes, FL- Tournament anglers are always looking for an edge over the competition. Many serious anglers throughout the nation turn to Gambler Lures for that edge, and the guys at Gambler have recognized that. As a way to give back to their customers, Gambler hosts a No-Entry Fee Tournament. Anglers are only allowed to fish with Gambler baits, which most anglers are fishing with on a daily basis anyways. This isn’t just a come and fish for a few, free packs of worm’s tournament, Gambler has a guaranteed payout structure. The winners are guaranteed $1,000; 2nd place will receive $500; 3rd-$250; 4th and 5th, respectively will receive $100 each; 6th– Costa Del Mar sunglasses; and $100 in Gambler Bucks for 7th-10th places.  Just to sum that up: No-Entry Fee (that means FREE!), fish with baits you already have and use, and have a shot at $1000. Sounds pretty sweet.

Casey Gonzalez and Bobby Squires thought so too. They teamed up to win the latest Gambler No-Entry Fee Tournament out of Camp Mack, on the Kissimmee Chain. They threw Gambler’s Fat Ace as their weapon of choice, to weigh in a 27.40 pound, 5 bass limit. An 8.85-pound kicker anchored their limit. “All I fish with is the Gambler Fat Ace,” stated Gonzalez. “It doesn’t fade colors, it stays true to its color, and the fish really like those weighted 6 inch Senko type baits.” They caught all their fish flipping it into buggy whips with a 1/8-ounce weight.

Chris Crow and Fred Colida finished in the runner up spot, weighing a 26.55-pound, 5 bass limit. Their limit was anchored by two giants, which weighed 9.65 and 9.60, respectively. They caught the 2 monsters throwing a Gambler Cane Toad, and flipping Gambler’s new Why Not, paired with a 1/2-ounce weight, in bull rush. They received $500.00 for their efforts.

Cody Glowner and Dalton Gorman took the 3rd spot, weighing a 5 bass limit, which pushed the scales to 24.00-pounds.  “We caught them on a Burner Worm, swimming it through the hydrilla,” stated one of the teammates. They received $250.00 in winnings.

4th place belonged to the team of Jeremy Cannon and Mikey Keyso. Their 5 bass limit weighed 21.85 pounds. For a no-entry fee tournament, they received $100.00

Rounding out the top 5 were Bob Stringer and Brian Mason. They brought a 20.55-pound, 5 bass limit to the scales. Their limit was anchored by a massive 10.85-pound lunker. That fish fell for Gambler’s Southern Flash Swim Jig, and took the event’s Big Bass honors.

More than 150 boats showed up to fish the No-Entry Fee Tournament, out of those, only 54 teams brought fish to the scales.
