Green and Bolema Win XBS Istokpoga

The 2014 season of the Xtreme Bass Series continued moving forward towards the end of the year championship over Memorial Day weekend. On May 25^th, 13 teams from the Lake Istokpoga division showed up for their 5^th qualifying event of the season.

D.J. Green and Dave Bolema took 1^st place honors with a 19.08-pound limit. Tom McGinnis and John Wood nabbed the runner up spot with an 18.79-pound limit. Pete Roberson and Rob Roberson rounded out the top 3 with a 17.89-pound limit. Eric Gaines and Bruce Noel won the Big Bass prize with an 8.97-pound lunker. They narrowly missed the 3^rd place spot with a 17.78-pound limit.

At this year’s championship, qualifying anglers will be fishing for a new Ranger Z119 powered by a 200HP Evinrude outboard. To qualify, anglers must fish 7 events in one division, or 8 events total of all divisions. The next event for the Lake Istokpoga division is scheduled for June 8^th.
