Hinman & Lee Light Up Kissimmee, Catch 40

10.June.2014

The Kissimmee Chain has been on fire in recent weeks, with multiple 20 and 30+ pound stringers being caught in local tournaments. 20 teams fishing the 6th qualifying event of the Xtreme Bass Series Kissimmee division sought to keep that trend alive, and capitalize on the hot, summertime bite.

The team of Matt Hinman and Andrew Lee didn’t just find the hot bite on Sunday, they set the Kissimmee Chain ablaze, weighing an enormous 39.65-pound, 5 bass limit to win the event. An 11.00-pound giant anchored their bag, also winning Hinman and Lee Big Bass honors for the event. That fish was also the deciding factor in their almost 10-pound margin of victory over 2nd place.

Yogi Norris and Newt Norris claimed the runner-up spot. Their 5 bass limit weighed just shy of the 30-pound mark at 29.70 pounds.

Steve Coleman and Erik Tilson took 3rd with a 29.40-pound, 5 bass limit, anchored by a 9.90-pound toad.

Richard Anthony and Scott Perry finished in 4th place. A 9.25-pound lunker anchored their 29.30-pound, 5 bass limit.

Don Eady and Kenny Bivies rounded out the top 5 with a 24.80-pound, 5 bass limit.

9 teams weighed in limits that surpassed the 20-pound threshold, and in total, anglers caught over 300 pounds of Kissimmee Chain bass. Richard Anthony and Scott Perry held onto their points lead with their top 5 finish.

There are 3 events left in the XBS Kissimmee division for the 2014 season.

At this year’s championship, qualifying anglers will have the opportunity to fish for a brand new Ranger Z119 powered by a 200HP Evinrude outboard. To qualify, anglers must fish 7 events in one division, or 8 events total of all divisions. The next event for the Kissimmee division is scheduled for July 13th. More information on the event can be found here.
