Pearson & Pearson Win Tampa Pro Classic

The Tampa Pro Bass team trail capped off their season on Lake Istokpoga, June 7th and 8th, for their 2-day classic. 31 of the 33 qualifying teams rolled into Istokpoga Park in hopes of claiming the classic title. Day 1 would set the bar, and determine who would be in the running for the championship victory. After the scales closed on day 1, Team of the Year winners James Pearson and Charles Pearson found themselves atop the leaderboard once again with a 27.74-pound bag.

In 2nd place was the team of Brian Mason and Bob Stringer. Their bag weighed 23.97 pounds.

David Crews and Troy Olivier were in 3rd place with a 21.33-pound bag.

James Crowder and Mike Newhart were sitting in 4th, weighing a 20.43-pound bag.

Brian Divito and Sean Wiggins rounded out the top 5 with 19.06 pounds of Lake Istokpoga bass.

The Big Bass award on Day 1 went to Bob Stringer for his 9.07-pound toad.

Jeremy Cannon won 2nd Big Bass on day 1 with a 9.06-pound lunker.

After setting the bar for the rest of the field on day 1, team Pearson set out from Istokpoga Park on Championship Sunday with a bulls-eye on their backs. Winning Team of the Year is no fluke, you have to consistently catch quality fish. As they did all year, the father-son duo caught enough to hold onto the lead, and take the win. Their 20.30-pound day 2 bag gave them a 48.04 2-day total.

David Crews and Troy Olivier made a big push towards the top with their 25.88-pound sack, finishing 2nd with a 2-day total of 47.21 pounds.

Brian Divito and Sean Wiggins moved up from 5th to 3rd on day 2, weighing a 24.93-pound bag. Their 2-day total weighed 43.99 pounds.

Tracy Bray and Richard Gillespie jumped from 6th to 4th with a 2-day total of 43.88 pounds.

Martin Dukes and Rick Wilson rallied their way into the top 5 with a 40.98 2-day total.

David Crews landed an 8.91-pound hawg to take the Big Bass award on day 2.

Rick Wilson won 2nd Big Bass on day 2 with an 8.62-pound lunker.
