Jeremy, Dan Smith Out-weather Mother Nature for Win

Written by Jim Trenary, FoM Central Florida Tournament Director

We started off with our Friday night dinner and meeting. We gave away some great merchandise from our local sponsors; such as, 2 Deka Deep Cycle Batteries, 7’ Duckett Fishing Rod, various items from Bass Pro, $25.00 Bitters Gift Card, Gatorland tickets, and some Soft Baits from Producto Lures. After the weigh in we also gave away another $25.00 Gift Card from Bass Pro Shops. We then continued the DVD series from Dr. James Merritt on doing the will of God. We must seek and be committed to know His will.

I must say this was a most challenging weigh-in, as the weather played havoc on us all, but my team pulled through and made it happen. No doubt the weather also played a major role in the strategies and plans of where the teams would fish, and what would be used to entice the big ones to hit, but despite the weather, we still had some nice sacks cross the stage.
Jeremy and Dan Smith clearly proved that regardless of wind and rain (all day) they could bring in a nice limit of Bass weighing in at 17.67 lbs. taking home $1,362.50 in cash.

Keith Carson and Billy Taylor with their 2nd place limit.

Coming in at 2nd is the team of Billy Taylor and Keith Carson who are certainly familiar with lugging heavy weights to the scale. Their limit of bass weighed in at 15.38 lbs., which included Big Bass weighing in at 6.75 lbs.

3rd place, to no surprise, was Mike Robinson and Brain Heaberlin bring to the scales 12.64 lbs.

4th place was earned by Don Fisher who actually fished solo but still came up with 12.43 lbs.

5th went to the team of Ken Lucas and Danny Lanier who fought the elements to weigh in a nice catch of 12.01 lbs.

We thank all our Florida Central Division Sponsor’s; Wincore Window & Doors, Deka Batteries, Bass Pro Shops, Gatorland, Bitter’s Bait and Tackle, and Producto Lures. We also thank our National sponsors; Skeeter Boats, Yamaha, Stren, Pflueger, Strike King Lure Company, Nester Hosiery, Marshall’s Marine, Kings Home, New Tech Global, Power-Pole, Lowrance, Duckett Fishing, Buckeye Lures, Keelshield, Solar Bat, Kistler Rods, Jacobs Glass, HydroWave, Rejuvenade, Berkley, and Rayjus Sportswear.
