Mann, Ray win in first event with Xtreme Bass: Rodman Division

Event number three for the Rodman Division of the Xtreme Bass Series took place on April 4th. 26 teams sought after the bites that would launch them to the top of the leaderboard, and valuable Team of the Year points.

Tim Mann and Troy Ray teamed up to fish their first event of the season with the XBS: Rodman Division, and almost swept the field for the day’s honors. Mann and Ray anchored their 24.55-pound winning limit with an 8.26-pound lunker, but it fell just shy of the Big Bass award. Johnny Key and Justin Bennett earned a runner-up finish with their 20.42-pound, 5 bass limit. Andy Reagor and Randy Collins caught five solid fish, weighing a total of 19.95 pounds to finish in third. Jerry Gutierrez and Bryon Sullivan finished in fourth place for the tournament, weighing a 19.01-pound limit, but landed in first place for the Big Bass pot with an 8.47-pound lunker. Lawrence Cook and Bobby Allen finished in the final spot among the Top 5, weighing a 17.09-pound bag.

With 9 events in each division, anglers competing in Xtreme Bass Series events can qualify for the 2015 Championship at Lake Okeechobee, November 5-7, 2015. At this years championship, qualifying anglers will have the opportunity to fish for a brand new Blazer 595 Pro Elite, powered by a 200 HP outboard. To qualify, anglers must fish 7 of the 9 events in one division, or 8 events total from all divisions combined. Teams who finish in the Top 4 of their division will also be invited to compete in the 2016 Florida State Team Championship, where teams of anglers from various organizations across the state, will have the opportunity to compete for another Blazer 595 Pro Elite powered by a 200 HP outboard.
