While the rest of the country is beginning to hone in on bedding bass, anglers across the state of Florida are focusing more on post spawn patterns. Easter weekend wasn’t very busy, but there were a few events that took place on April 4th.

Mike Davis and Dennis Hernandez won the first Eaton’s Beach Team Tournament presented by Fitzgerald Rods at Lake Weir. Davis and Hernandez pieced together a 13.78-pound bag to win the event. Part of their catch was the 7.23-pounder that won the Big Bass pot. CJ King and Scott Sommer earned a second place finish, as they weighed an 11.45-pound bag. Ben and Anna Fitzgerald earned the final spot in the Top 3, weighing a 7.31-pound bag. The next Eaton’s Beach Team Tournament open is scheduled for Saturday, May 2nd. –

The Camp Mack One Man Open was won by Dave Ochs as he weighed a 21.65-ppound, 5 bass limit. John Myers took a runner-up finish for the day, weighing a 19.60-pound bag. James Pearson caught the Big Bass of the tournament, a 10.35-pound lunker, on his way to a third place finish and an 18.90-pound bag. Jeff Crandon earned a fourth place finish, weighing 15.50 pounds. Camp Mack’s next scheduled One Man Open is set for May 2nd.-

Chad Schroeder took the top spot at the ABA American Fishing Tour Florida West divisional tournament at Lake Toho. Schroeder caught a 5 bass limit, weighing 15.45 pounds to secure the victory. Bill Stroupe finished in second place, weighing a 14.18-pound limit. Third place was awarded to Frank Derylak, as he weighed a 12.08-pound limit. Carlos Rivera, Sr. caught 4 fish weighing a total of 11.85 pounds to finish in fourth place. Micah Silverman earned a Top 5 finish with an 11.61-pound limit. The Florida West division’s next scheduled event is set for April 18th at Lake Toho, from Southport Park. –

Ken Lucas and Danny Lanier not only earned a victory at the final qualifying event of the season for the Anglers Team Trail, but they also secured the Team of the Year title in the process. Lucas and Lanier weighed 19.79 pounds in the event that launched from Lake Cypress to earn the top spot for the day. Hunter McKamey and Chris Adams had a strong bag as well, weighing a 19.28-pound limit for a second place finish. Greg Cuming and Gary Armstrong finished in third place for the day, weighing an 18.93-pound bag. Rob and Jim Demola’s 18.00-pound bag earned the team a fourth place finish. The anglers anchored their weight with a 7.08-pound kicker, earning the team the 2nd Big Bass award. Tom Burke and Nate Bloom earned the overall Big Bass award for their 7.51-pounder. That fish anchored Burke and Bloom’s 17.42-pound bag, landing the team in fifth place. Lake Okeechobee will serve as host for the trail’s 2-day classic, May 2nd and 3rd.-

Sean Curry and Ruddy Alvarez took a first place finish at the Fishers of Men Legacy Series event on the Conway Chain. Curry and Alvarez weighed a 9.89-pound, 5 bass limit for the win. David and Bryce DiMauro weighed the day’s Big Fish, a 4.13-pound kicker. That fish assisted in their 9.42-pound bag, and a second place finish. Kevin Lucas and Tyler Willis finished in third place, weighing a 9.21-pound limit. The next FoM Legacy Series event is scheduled for May 2nd on the Clermont Chain.-
