McMillian Owns Okeechobee

03.Mar.2014-The name McMillan has always been synonymous with Lake Okeechobee, and Jared McMillan continues to keep that a tradition. He bested 195 other anglers on Saturday to win the 3rd event of the Walmart BFL Gator Division. McMillan’s 5 bass limit weighing 29-09, was enough to separate him from 2nd place finisher Caleb Frazier by less than a pound. McMillan received a huge payday for the win, amassing $8,191 between tournament winnings, Ranger Cup and Evinrude Bonuses.

Frazier’s 5 bass limit weighed 28-14, which netted him $2,945.

3rd place went to Moore Haven’s Bryan Honnerlaw. His best 5 weighed 28-03, anchored by a monster 10-04. That fish landed Honnerlaw the events Big Bass honor, and helped him to a $2,939 dollar payday.

Jesse Woodring of Jupiter, FL finished 4th with a 5 bass limit weighing 26-02. Woodring took home $1,374 for his efforts.

Penney Farms, FL resident Tony Haymon rounded out the top 5, bringing  25-09 to the scales. Those 5 bass enabled Haymon to cash a check worth $1,178.

The Gator Division of the Walmart BFL will hold it’s next event out of Lake Toho on May 17th. More information on the event can be found at the link below.
