Medlock’s end season with win

The father and son team of Joe and Brandon Medlock ended the 2015 season of the Xtreme Bass Series: Lake Istokpoga division on a high note. The duo weighed a 17.59-pound, five-bass limit to top the 11-boat field. Dave Bolema and Steve Griffing finished the day in second place by weighing a 13.55-pound, five-bass limit. Bolema and Griffing anchored their bag with the day’s Big Bass, a 6.23-pound kicker. Will and Candy Benion rounded out the Top 3 with four fish that weighed 12.37 pounds.

The race for divisional points champions was close right up to the end, but the team of Tom McGinnis and Charlie Hauser topped the division. Will Benion and Mark Slapczynski finished a mere two points shy, in second place. Mike Keyso and Donnie Bass stayed consistent throughout the year and finished in third place. Eric Conant and Michael Foster earned a few victories throughout the year and secured a fourth place finish in the end of year standings. These teams earned invitations to compete in the 2016 Florida State Team Championship being held at Lake Toho April 8-10, 2016.

The Xtreme Bass Series Championship is scheduled for November 5-7, 2015 at Lake Okeechobee. XBS members who have qualified via divisional tournaments will be competing for a Blazer 595 Pro Elite powered by a 200 HP Mercury Pro XS. Divisional points leaders will be competing against each other within the event, and the highest placing team of the divisional points champions will be crowned the 2015 Team of the Year.
