Ramsey tops Bay County field with back to back wins

The Bay County Bass Club continued their 2015 season at Lake Seminole on September 12th, 2015. 19 anglers set out on the 37,500-acre reservoir that borders the Florida, Georgia, and Alabama state lines in search of a win and highly valued Angler of the Year points; Al Ramsey earned both.

Ramsey, who earned the win at the club’s event in August at the Apalachicola River, topped the field yet again at Lake Seminole with a 12.97-pound, five-bass limit. With the win, Ramsey takes over the points race for Angler of the Year.

Russell Sims finished in second place with an 11.57-pound, five-bass limit. Matt Davis caught four fish weighing 9.29 pounds for a third place finish. Scott Wallace weighed 9.20 pounds to finish in fourth place, followed by Tom Martin in fifth place with 9.00 pounds. Martin also weighed the day’s largest bass, a 4.87-pound kicker.

The Bay County Bass Club is registered for the 2016 Florida State Team Championship being held on Lake Toho April 8-10, 2016. The Top 8 anglers from the Angler of the Year points race will for teams to compete for a new Blazer 595 Pro Elite powered by a 200 HP Mercury Pro XS.

The club’s next event is scheduled for October 10th at Lake Talquin.
