Davis, Murrels sweep Marion County field

Jeff Davis and Kevin Murrels swept the Marion County Bassmasters field at the club’s final event of the 2014/2015 season held at the St. Johns River at Astor. Davis and Murrels anchored their tournament winning 14.92-pound, five-bass limit with a 7.32-ppound hawg. That fish earned the team the Big Bass award for the day’s event.

Greg Crumpton and John Day weighed a 10.88-pound, five-bass limit to finish in second place. Daniel and Russel Tillis earned a third place finish by weighing a 10.26-pund bag. Dale and Stoney Jackson finished in fourth place with 9.36 pounds, followed by Eddie Fulbright and Tommy Tucker in fifth place with 8.20 pounds.

Greg and Mike Crumpton proved to be the most consistent team throughout the season and earned the title of Team of the Year. The Crumpton’s, along with the rest of the Top 4 teams in the Team of the Year standings, will be invited to compete in the 2016 Florida State Team Championship being held at Lake Toho, April 8-10, 2016.
