Osborne, Silverman make push towards Team of Year title

Russ Osborne and Micah Silverman continued their push towards a Team of the Year title as they won the eighth event of the Xtreme Bass Series: Lake Toho divisional tournament on September 20th. Osborne and Silverman weighed an 18.48-pound, five-bass limit in their victory.

Current Team of the Year leaders Jeremy Smith and Jim Folks weighed a 17.12-pound, five-bass limit to finish in second place. Steve Coleman and Jason Brewer finished in third place with a 15.44-pound, five-bass limit. Don Eady and Kenny Bivens finished the day in fourth place with a 14.42-five-bass limit. Eady and Bivens anchored their catch with a 5.46-pound kicker that earned the Big Bass award. They were followed by John Jukas and Joe Johns in fifth place with 14.34 pounds.

With nine events in each division, anglers competing in XBS events can qualify for the 2015 Championship at Lake Okeechobee, November 5-7, 2015. At this years championship, qualifying anglers will have the opportunity to fish for a 2016 Blazer 595 Pro Elite, powered by a 200 HP Mercury ProXS. To qualify, anglers must fish 7 of the 9 events in one division, or 8 events total from all divisions combined. Teams who finish within the Top 4 of their division will also be invited to compete in the 2016 Florida State Team Championship, where teams of anglers from various organizations across the state, will have the opportunity to compete for another Blazer 595 Pro Elite powered by a 200 HP Mercury ProXS.

One event remains for the Toho Division on October 11th.
