Sisson Wins Toho

Lakeland Bassmasters, ‘The Largest B.A.S.S. affiliated club in the world,’ held their 7th event of the 2014 season July 13th on Lake Toho, out of Southport Park.

50 anglers, comprised of both boaters and co-anglers, arrived the morning of the event, ready to take on Lake Toho and the summertime weather. Anglers were not permitted to lock through to the lower lakes on the Kissimmee Chain, keeping the 32-boat field locked in the waters of Lake Toho.

Boater Lee Sisson bested the 49 other anglers by weighing a 21.64-pound, 5 bass limit. An 8.73-pound lunker anchored his bag, and proved to be the deciding factor in his win over 2nd place finisher, Boater Darrell Cranor.

Cranor, who won the Rat-L-Trap Open on Lake Toho a few weeks ago, weighed in an 18.50-pound, 5 bass limit.

Co-Angler Rick Olsen, who fished out of the back of Cranor’s boat, finished in 3rd, weighing a 17.13-pound, 5 bass limit.

Boater Andrew Beeman weighed a 16.27-pound, 5 bass limit to finish in 4th place. A 7.63-pound kicker anchored his bag.

Boater Pat Landaiche rounded out the top 5, weighing a 14.83-pound bag, anchored by a 7.80-pound kicker.

Brad Renner won the event’s Big Bass award for his 9.67-pound giant.

The next event for Lakeland Bassmasters is for August 17th on Lake Istokpoga. More information on this event can be found here https://floridatournamentreport.com/event/lakeland-bassmasters-lake-istokpoga-3/
