Smith and Clemens Capitalize on Rousseau

Anglers competing in the Xtreme Bass Series Lake Rousseau division continued to catch quality fish at the last event on Saturday, June 14th. The team of Dan Smith and Chris Clemens found the right bites to capitalize on. Their 21.47-pound, 5 bass limit weighed just enough to claim the victory over the 17 boat field. A 7.94-pound kicker anchored their bag, helping them to a $780 payday.

Danny Thompson and Trevor Fitzgerald, owner of Florida based Fitzgerald Rods, weighed in a solid 20.42-pound limit for 2nd place and a $340 payday. The 2nd place team also weighed in the tournament’s heaviest bass, an 8.64-pound lunker, which landed them another $170.

The next event for the X.B. Series Lake Rousseau division is scheduled for Saturday, July 12th out of the Dunellon City ramp. This will be the 6th event of the 2014 season for anglers competing towards qualifying for the 2014 Championship. At this year’s championship, qualifying anglers will have the opportunity to fish for a brand new Ranger Z119 powered by a 200HP Evinrude outboard.
