The past few weeks have been rather busy! Here’s a rundown on some of the recent events.

On February 21st:

199 Boaters and Co-anglers turned out for the 3rd event of the Walmart BFL Gator Divison at Lake Okeechobee. Fred George best out Norris Newhouse by a 1-pound margin to win the event in the Boater Division. George weighed a 22 pound, 7 ounce 5 bass limit to earn the $6,011.00 first place prize. Newhouse earned $3,006.00 for his 21 pound, 7 ounce limit. Ken Litton finished just behind in 3rd place with an event 20 pound limit, worth $2,001.00.

Jason Pike won the Co-angler title as he set a 19 pound, 2 ounce 5 bass limit on the scales. Pike earned $3,006.00 for the win. James Hatch finished in second place, weighing a 17 pound, 13 ounce limit with $1,503.00. Shannon Pitts finished off the Top 3 with a 16 pound, 9 ounce bag, earning Pitts $1,008.00.


 

The first event of the Xtreme Bass Series: Hillsborough River Division was won by Dickie Gillespie and William Gairns. Their best 5 bass weighed 16.57 pounds. John Catlin and Rick Prokosch finished in second place, weighing a 14.56-pound limit.

The St. Johns River Divison of the Xtreme Bass Series was the same day, and turned into a big fish slug fest. Mark and Robby Shumate beat out the 21 boat field, weighing a 24.24-pound, 5 bass limit. Their bag was anchored by a huge 11.69-pound lunker, but was only the 2nd largest bass weighed at the event. Stanley Hunt and Ryan Worthington caught 22.59 pounds to finish in second place. Their bag was anchored by a 7.64-ound kicker. Frank Streeter and Donnie Hewitt took third place. Their 22.45-pound limit was anchored by an 11.27-pound hawg, the 3rd largest bass weighed on the day. Lee Stalky and Jason Caldwell finished in fourth place, weighing a 20.67-pound limit. They won the Big Bass award with the 11.97-pound giant that anchored their catch.
