The Livewell Check

The Livewell Check is our new weekly feature, where we will briefly recap recent events. Some of these events will become feature stories, and are dependent upon results availability.

The 2nd Annual Kids to the Classic tournament was held on November 22nd on Lake Kissimmee. This charity bass tournament, hosted by 2015 Bassmaster Classic Qualifier Van Soles, helps to raise the funds to send 10 anglers from the Lakeland Junior Bassmasters to the Bassmaster Classic. The 2015 Classic will be held on Lake Hartwell in Greenville, SC. 28 boats competed in this year’s Kids to the Classic event.

Mike Bierfreund took top honors, winning the event with 20.65 pounds. Bierfreund also caught the event’s Big Bass, a 6.65-lb. toad.

2nd place went to Lakeland Junior Bassmasters competitor Sammy Jay Acree and Chuck Methany with 16.75 pounds.

3rd place went to Scott Visker and Jimmy Tucker with 16.68 pounds.
