Upchurch, Leal win back to back

The Kissimmee Bass Series was fortunate enough that mother nature cooperated for their tournament on Sunday July 26th. Summer thunderstorms pound Central Florida the day prior. Overall, weights seemed to be down for the 46 teams that launched from Camp Mack’s River Resort.

Richie Upchurch and Billy Leal were able to find the right bites though. They topped the field with a 23.05-pound bag, winning their second event in a row. The 9.65-pound lunker that anchored their bag helped in their victory, also earning theta the Big Bass award for the tournament. Bryan and Cody Malys weighed a solid 19.80-pounds to finish the tournament in second place. Third place was awarded to James Pearson and Jeff Crandon for their 18.35-pound bag. Richard Carter and Mark Krutzky’s 16.75-pound, five-bass limit earned them a fourth place finish. Van Soles and Cecil Hock finished just behind in fifth place with 16.65 pounds.

The Kissimmee Bass Series events are held at Camp Mack on the fourth Sunday of each month. They next event is scheduled for August 23rd.
