Conant, Foster Open XBS: Kissimmee Division with Win

On February 15th, the Xtreme Bass Series kicked off their Kissimmee Division out of Camp Mack. With air temps in the mid 40’s, and strong winds blowing in from the North, competing anglers would have a lot to overcome. The morning began with a light breeze as the sun crept above the horizon, but that was soon followed by 20+ mph winds straight down the lake. Around noon, the winds finally began to die, giving the anglers the break they had been waiting on all day.

Eric Conant and Michael Foster took first place after a long and grueling day on the water. After boating the big bass of the tournament early, they were able to finish the day off with a five fish limit weighing in at 24.70 pounds. Their big bass weighed an astounding 9.40 pounds. Conant and Foster targeted areas they found in practice that had empty beds in them.“I knew as the day went on some fish would move into those areas” said Conant. Their primary baits were Gambler EZ Swimmers and Berkley Havoc Grass Pigs.

In second place, Blake Williams and Tom Davis brought a limit of five healthy bass to the scales, weighing in at 18.95 pounds. Third place was taken by the team of Darrell Cranor and Will Evans with a 17.15-pound sack. Billy Bechard and Michael Bechard brought 15.99 pounds to the scales for a fourth place finish, and rounding out the top five was David Crews and Troy Olivier with 12.55 pounds.

A total of 13 boats (26 anglers) took part in this event. The next Xtreme Bass Series event on Lake Kissimmee will take place on March 15th from safe light to 3:00PM at Camp Mack. More information can be found on the Event Calendar
