Goodman, Thompson Win XBS Istokpoga

15 teams fishing the Xtreme Bass Series: Lake Istokpoga division continued to take on the heat of the summer on Sunday, August 3rd. The team of Monte Goodman and Tommy Thompson weighed in a 20.46-pound, 5 bass limit to claim victory in the 8th qualifying event of the season. Their bag was anchored by an 8.04-pound lunker, which won overall Big Bass honors.

John Perry and Steve Griffith finished in 2nd place. Their 5 bass limit weighed 19.65 pounds.

Frank Miller and Troy Brown rounded out the Top 3. Their 18.89-pound, 5 bass limit was anchored by a 7.99-pound kicker.

The next tournament for anglers fishing the XBS: Lake Istokpoga division is scheduled for Sunday, August 31st. This will be the 9th and final event of the 2014 season for anglers competing towards qualifying for the 2014 Championship. At this year’s championship, qualifying anglers will have the opportunity to fish for a brand new Ranger Z119 powered by a 200HP Evinrude outboard.
