Syler Prince and Rileigh Stout triumph in Wolfson Lads and Lasses event

Palatka, FL- The Wolfson Children’s Hospital Lads and Lasses Tournament witnessed an impressive victory as Palatka’s Syler Prince and Rileigh Stout triumphed with an astounding 23.95 pounds of St. John’s River bass to earn $1,000.00. The duo topped a field of 88 guy and gal teams participating in the event. The Lads and Lasses event is the kickoff to what is known as Wolfson Week. The event pairs guys and gals together, getting lady anglers more engaged and out on the water. The Lads and Lasses tournament is the first of 3 days of solid competition. The annual tradition brought together anglers of all levels to engage in a day of spirited competition while supporting the hospital’s mission.

1st: Syler Prince & Rileigh Stout- 23.95 lbs – $1,000.00

2nd: Ronnie Council & Reta Szlosek- 21.83 lbs- $750.00

3rd: Charles Moody & Kelly Moody- 19.49 lbs- $600.00

4th: Larry Cahan & Sarah Rouse- 18.98 lbs- $500.00

5th: Wyatt Kinney & Alyssa Gross- 18.13 lbs- $250.00

Since 1989, the Tournament has helped fund specialized treatments, lifesaving technology, and capital improvements at Wolfson Children’s. The Plant Facilities Department at Baptist Medical Center Jacksonville organized and launched the tournament as a vehicle to fund capital improvements and acquisition of advanced technology. From its inception, the Tournament has raised more than $6 million.

This year’s event is focused on funding life-saving equipment and technology in the C. Herman and Mary Virginia Terry Heart Institute at Wolfson Children’s Hospital.  All fundraising efforts will go towards achieving the goal of $500,000.00.
