Young’s Round-Up Win on Rousseau

Lake Rousseau proved to be a bigger challenge than many might have anticipated to the anglers of Bay Area Bassmasters. The 3,657-acre lake that is fed by the Rainbow and Withalacoochee Rivers was the third stop on the schedule for the club as they launched on the lake on March 14th.

Bruce and Jared Young were able to piece together a 12.52-pound, 5 bass limit to beat the 35 boat field. The Young’s anchored their winning bag with a 5.54-pound kicker. Jeff and Jason Baker boated a 5 bass limit weighing 11.35 pounds. Their second place catch was anchored by a 4.99-pound kicker. Greg Mann and Joe Craighead caught only two fish throughout the day that weighed a total of 8.34 pounds. Their catch landed them in third place, but the bag consisted of a 6.13-pounder that earned the team their second Big Bass award in as many events.

Lewis Roberson and Calvin Boyette were the only other team to boat a 5 bass limit. Their fourth place bag weighed in at 7.22 pounds. Mike and Pam Hardy secured a Top 5 finish with 3 bass that weighed 7.00 pounds even.

Teams should be able to look forward to better results at the club’s next event, as the Bay Area Bassmasters travel down to Lake Istokpoga on April 11th. More information can be found on the Event Calendar.
